10:03 am - One last time to say goodbye to Jamestowne hall.

Bryan Hampton of ripped heart has a message for you about the Jamestowne show on the 10th:
“People have been telling me they heard Jamestowne isn't having any more shows and asking if this show is cancelled. I called the owner to find out directly. They said I can have the September 10th show but it will be the last show they are allowing because the shows are too much of a headache. So, this probably is the LAST JAMESTOWNE SHOW. But don't vandalize or tear the place down because I'm still hoping they will realize that my shows have never caused a problem to them. Maybe they will still let me and the other promoters who don't cause problems have more shows in the future. (If not we will move on and hope that when another venue is found people will not do stupid things to hurt the future of shows there in our very fragile scene.) “
The lineup for the night is as follows:
Sat Sept 10th @ Olde Jamestowne Hall,
4pm $5 all ages no alcohol www.rippedheart.com
Nuke and the Living Dead (horror punk from detroit),
Red Lipstick Death (death rock from detroit),
The Yulgits (street/horror punk from oscoda),
FS (hardcore punk from detroit),
Desiring Dead Flesh (hardcore punk from bay city),
The Shakedowns (punk from bay city),
The Misunderestimated (punk from saginaw),
The Hand-Me-Downs (punk from caro),
Notice of Eviction (punk from owosso-ex the hooligans), and
The Suburban Rebels (punk from detroit-ex atom and the bombs).

Tis a sad day for the scene don’t miss it!

Show up at this show and get our t-shirt and CD for just $12!

2:03 am - Cleveland rocks?

I should punch Drew Carey in the mouth. Cleveland does not rock. It's 1:50 AM so I won't say much, but here is a brief synopsis of the weekend. Drove to Ohio, it took 4 hours and kinda sucked. Did a workshop where record company execs talked about how to get signed. I learned a lot, it was fun. The Misunderestimated played at the Hard Rock Cafe and then talked to A&R reps from 3 record companies who told us our faults and what we had going for us. Overall it was like they said we were highly original, have a great style but we still have some work to do before we can be "rock stars". It was fun. I am tired. Next gig; Jamestowne hall, September 10th. Possibly the last hall show ever at jamestowne so don't miss it. Later on.

9:31 am - CD's, Shirts, shows and singer.....

Greetings! As many of you know, The Misunderestimated will be playing in Ohio on saturday at the Hard Rock Cafe. What you should also know is that we finally have a four song EP finished and T-shirts. Is 12 dollars too much to ask for a T-shirt and CD? I think not. Get em while they're hot folks!

9:32 am - The Misunderestimated are back and stronger than ever!

I am so tired I can hardly move. I'm still working on my first cup of coffee and replaying yesterdays events. Last night we played our first show as a 3 piece band at the Spider Trap bar in Clio and it was our best performance yet! The night started out pretty rough with the opening band pulling out just four hours before they were due to go on.Unable to find a replacement, we just rearranged the playing times of the remaining three. Also, the bar decided not to charge cover so we only made $63 which went directly to the sound guy. To top it all off, they got our name wrong on the marquee, so we changed the sign to read "UNDER 5 MOOSE TAILS". Did we let that stop us? Nay, nay! Downpoint played first and I have to say, they were the loudest band of the night! Most people went outside and listened from the patio, but they played quite well. Then, our new pals Autumn and the Wasp went on. I think these guys are just awesome with a really unique sound and even better stage presence and the bassist looks like Tom Waits on steroids! When it was time for us to go on I was feeling quite nervous but that faded fast as we blistered through our set. Speaking of blisters, I opened a HUGE one by the third song and played the rest of the night with my hand on fire. The place was pretty packed and it felt good to get so much applause. 12 songs and an hour and fifteen minutes later we ended the show. We have never had so many people asking where we came from, where we would be playing next and if we had T-shirts and CD's. Any fears we had about whether or not we could pull this off without a frontman melted away. I just want to thank all the folks who showed up to support us and the other two bands for making it an awesome night. From here it's Cleveland and Jamestowne in September. We are The Misunderestimated, we are a band, we are good.

8:29 pm - Fired

Now that I've been fired from The Misunderestimated what should I do with my time? Focus exclusively on my art? Watch all of the DVDs I haven't watched yet? Take up some new hobbies? Any suggestions?

1:31 pm - website news

The website is under construction right now.

There are some new features being tweaked as we speak-- the msg board, the guestbook (do we need both?) and I am working on getting some audio clips added also.

The new interface may be a while before I can figure it out completely.

I had to uninstall/reinstall the stupid msg board- so if you already created a profile- you'll have to sign up again.. sorry..

1:13 pm - Terror at The Spider Trap

Last night we rocked a polar bear's ass at The Spider Trap in Clio. We were the guests of Severe Head Drama. We had no major problems last night until the third to last song when Andy broke a string on his guitar. While he was replacing it, Kurt and Chris amused the crowd with a little improv on the bass and drums. I had spilled a little water behind me on the stage earlier in the night and tried my best to avoid it so I wouldn't fall on my ass...I forgot about the small puddle in front and slipped. Lucky me, I dislocated my knee right on stage. At first, everyone thought it was a joke, until they saw the look of shock and pain in my face. This has happened a few times in the past and I could usually pop it back into place no problem...not this time. It wouldn't budge. Ethan came to me and asked if I needed an ambulance. I said I didn't all I needed was him to start pushing in the knee cap until it pops back into place. It took a lot of doing, but he managed to get it back in. A chair was placed on stage and I finished our set...show must go on, right?

Needless to say, I'm in a lot of pain today. I still managed to come into work. I think I need to start wearing a brace until I can afford to get this bad knee taken care of.

I'd like to thank Ethan for letting us play last night, and for popping my knee back into place. I'm sorry for missing your set, I was really in a lot of pain and wanted to get home.

That's all for now!

current mood: IN PAIN!

8:27 pm - The Misunderestimated at Jamestown Fest 2005

We came, we saw, we kicked some ass.

Today we played Jamestown Fest 2005. It looked like rain all day...and we were playing outside...not a drop fell...we were very lucky. Not a lot of technical problems today, Andy's guitar cable shorted out toward the end of our set, someone lent him one...nothing else major happened. I thought I sang better today than I can remember, I wasn't very animated though (this damp weather is murder on my old joints). Kurt played his little heart out. Chris played and sang great. We went over by 10 minutes, I didn't really care since we started about an hour later than scheduled. I really didn't care how we sounded, I had a blast and that's all that matters to me.

Be sure to check us out tomorrow night (June 18th) at the Spider Trap in Clio with:

Severe Head Drama
Neighborhood Muscle
Project Xero

18+ show starts at 9pm.

5:57 pm - The Misunderestimated hits the studio.

Tomorrow night we are planning (if everything works out okay) to start working on our first CD. I'm sure I won't have much to do because we will be recording drums first, guitar second, bass third...then I get to work on keys (I think) and vocals last...I need to practice a lot from now until then. Hopefully we will have a finished product soon.

Don't forget to come and see us on June 3rd @ The Jamestown Hall

Downtown Brown
The Banana Convention
Nothing for Something
Vince Dynamic
Infedel Smile
The Esperantos

10:15 am - The Misunderestimated wants you!

Here is a questionaire that has been floating around, but this one is for THE WHOLE BAND! If you fill this out for us, we will fill one out for you!

we committed suicide:
we said I liked you:
we kissed you:
we lived next door to you:
we started smoking:
we stole something:
we was hospitalized:
we ran away from home:
we got into a fight and you weren't there:

[1] Who are you?
[2] Are we friends?
[3] When and how did we meet?
[4] How have we affected you?
[5] What do you think of us?
[6] What's the fondest memory you have of us?
[7] How long do you think we will be friends or enemies?
[8] Do you love us?
[9] Have we ever hurt you?
[10] Would you hug us?
[11] Would you kiss us?
[12] Would you like to have sex with us?
[13] Are we close?
[14] Emotionally, what stands out?
[15] Do you wish we were cooler?
[16] On a scale of 1-10, how nice are we?
[17] Give us a nickname and explain why you picked it.
[18] Are we loveable?
[19] How long have you known us?
[20] Describe us in one word.
[21] What was your first impression?
[22] Do you still think that way about us now?
[23] What do you think our weakness is?
[24] Do you think we'll get signed?
[25] What about us makes you happy?
[26] What about us makes you sad?
[27] What reminds you of us?
[28] What's something you would change about us?
[29] How well do you know us?
[30] Ever wanted to tell us something but couldn't?
[31] Do you think we would kill someone?
[32] Are you going to put this on your journal and see what we say about you?

Chris, on the news page, the link back to the home page doesn't work.

Right now its as follows::
a style="font-weight: bold;" href="www.themisunderestimated.com"><---HOME</a>

It should be::
a style="font-weight: bold;" href="http://www.themisunderestimated.com"><---HOME</a>

(I took the < from in front of the lines so you could see the code in LJ.)

Just change the address by adding the http:// in front of it.

I think your new pictures are very nice... where o where did they come from? :)

2:11 am - Ugh...

Yep...I ate 16 pickled eggs tonight, we lost to a band called Ditch Road (who heckled us during our entire set) of course they won...we only had 3 people cheering for us...thanks everyone for showing up! And then I puked just as promised. What a great night!

current mood: PICKLED EGGS SUCK!

2:06 am - BATTLE ON! Conclusion...

The Misunderestimated would like to thank all of our friends who showed up at the battle to support us in our hour of need to help lead us to victory! Oh wait... We don't have any friends and we lost. Oh well, we got the second most amount of applause and the other band had at LEAST 10 or twelve people there. A manager was interested in us too so that's cool.....and Bil ate an entire jar of pickled eggs on stage and prompyly ran to the bathroom to puke when we finished our set. That's rock n roll, baby!

current mood: but mostly just tired.
